Morning Assignments

  • Check Stock Portfolio and print 
  • Individual Activity:  Journal writing in Journal Document Template:
    • "How will you evaluate your students in a technology connected lesson?

    •  How will you assess the effectiveness of the lesson?"
    Print response and place in your journal folder
  • Journal Sharing:  Small group and whole group.
  • Small Group Activity:Grouping Students into Heterogeneous Teams.
    • Read Cooperative Learning Tips (page 5.5).  Use Cooperative Learning Activity Sheets provided by the instructor to place students in groups of four and to reevaluate.

  • Whole Group Techie Moment:Creating Tables in Word
    • Create the scoring rubric from examples with all formatting borders and shading, merged cells, centered vertically and horizontally, etc.
  • Individual Planning:  Create assessments for a lesson you have created during days 1-4 using Word tables, Excel checklists, or other word processing skills.
  • Individual Activity:  Complete Excel spreadsheet of stock portfolio performance.
Decisions, Decisions:  The Environment
  • Whole Group Activity:Simulation Activity using Decisions, Decisions - Multi-group Mode

  • (Classroom Management Strategy: Note cards with categories)
    • Instructor will introduce this lesson to you using the simulation software.
    • Read pages 7-10 in your advisor briefing books.
    • Working in your groups, fill out the worksheet: In step 1, analyze the situation (so there is consensus about important issues for each advisor).
    • Complete the Decisions Log, filling in individual and learn goals.
    • Enter your Decisions into the computer and receive the words that each advisor needs to read in order to discuss the second set of options
    • Continue making decisions through number 5 for your team.
    • Instructor will tell you when to do the evaluation component at the end of the software.  Share results with class.  (See also evaluation worksheet from Decisions workbook.)
  • Whole Group Activity:Newsletter using Wizard in MS Publisher
    • Create an editorial about the environmental problem that you dealt with in Decisions, Decisions from the point of view of the advisor role that you played.
  • Small Group Activity:InTech Experience Newsletter
    • In your school group, create a newsletter to share the InTech experience with the faculty at your school.
